EntreComp Synergies

About the project

EntreComp Synergies was an initiative of the European Union, initiated in December 2021, until December 2023 under EISMEA tender EISMEA/2021/OP/0002: ‘Achieving Synergies and Champions in the Implementation of the European Entrepreneurship Competence Framework ‘ which aimed to achieve synergies and champions in the implementation of the European Entrepreneurship Competence Framework (EntreComp).

Aims

This project engaged, connected, grew, and sustained the entrepreneurial learning community, bringing together different actors from diverse sectors who were interested in, inspired by, or already using EntreComp to underpin entrepreneurial learning.

It was the opportunity to create synergies and bring together existing and new audiences relevant to or already engaged in implementing EntreComp. To work across sectors and partners to develop their capacity and engagement through innovative and participatory learning events, to network and collaborate within online communities of practice, and to recognise their progress and impact through an international EntreComp Champions awards scheme.

This served as a concrete basis from which to establish a sustainable community and associated actions, bringing these partners together as members within an open, inclusive and democratic network organisation.

EntreComp Synergies:

  • Forged and strengthened synergies – built understanding, relevance and collaboration aligned to EntreComp across diverse sectors and geographies.
  • Accelerated engagement and pioneered recognition pathways – activated and sustained involvement in the online EntreComp Communities of Practice.
  • Catalysed change in policy and practice – identified key recommendations for developing synergies towards further implementation of EntreComp.
  • Achieved long-term change – created a sustainable open and inclusive partnership between networks, organisations and practitioners.

Outcomes

During the 24 month project, EntreComp Synergies developed:

Communities of Practice

Seven thematic online Communities of Practice (CoP) were created and facilitated by the project partners. The communities (except EntreComp for Champions) are already open for all to join and participate. Within these communities, members can start or join discussions, share updates and take part in community challenges.

  1. EntreComp for Entrepreneurial Mindsets – a community for all levels of EntreComp users looking to develop their entrepreneurial skills and mentality
  2. EntreComp for Digital – a community for digital skills development
  3. EntreComp for Circular and Green Economy – a community aligned to the European Commission commitments for a sustainable future
  4. EntreComp for Food Systems – a community for innovative food systems using EntreComp
  5. EntreComp for Women and Girls – a community not only for women and girls but also those actively working to promote opportunities for women and girls through EntreComp and entrepreneurship
  6. EntreComp for Social and Creative Industries – a community to integrate approaches for social and creative industries through EntreComp

The EntreComp Champions Series

The EntreComp Champions Series recognised individuals and organisations working to develop entrepreneurial competences through use of the EntreComp Framework across different initiatives and levels.
